Reemployment Support

St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church has launched a free, reemployment support group for anyone looking for a job or changing their career path.  .

“High unemployment is likely to continue for the foreseeable future,” said Bill Putnam of St. Andrew.  “This initiative’s goal is to develop on-going support for people who are unemployed or underemployed.”

Topics include insights into an employer’s expectations of a candidate, resume design and job sourcing techniques, the power of networking, and interviewing and personal presentation skills. Leaders include experts in human resources.

“This outreach program will help provide the skills and support needed in these tough economic times,” said Putnam. Those interested in receiving help will be matched with volunteers who have beeen human resources specialists to work one on one with whatever issue is foremost for the job candidate.
